Acoustic Ceiling Baffles

Baffle systems are often used to reduce the noise in production areas with high humidity and special hygienic requirements where the application of plane suspended ceilings is problematic. Fabric Sound Baffles can be made using indoor/outdoor decorative fabrics.

What is the difference between Acoustic Baffle Clouds and Ceiling Baffles?

Baffles and clouds from AKINCO products enhance a space’s aesthetic appeal while minimizing reflected sound. Multiple baffles are hung vertically in a sequence from the ceiling, while acoustic panels called clouds are stretched horizontally below it. Both may be tailored using several colours, fabrics, and sizes and are quite good at reducing noise.

At AKINCO, we are frequently asked which acoustic ceiling solution is preferable—clouds or baffles. The final line is that both are viable solutions, but regardless of personal taste, there are some situations where we advise using one over the other.

Avoid using conventional, uninteresting ceiling tiles. Baffles effectively deflect sound, but more importantly, they look better and can be made to fit a variety of settings. It’s a common misperception that architects choose to situate barriers in less appealing locations. It’s not like that at all! When used properly, baffles may keep the attention on the important design elements in the room without detracting from its attractiveness or flow.

The spacing is likely the most significant consideration when specifying baffles. We’ve worked on projects where the initial pass simply lacked enough baffles, necessitating a second run to tighten the spacing. To save money, many people prefer to place baffles every three feet, but this won’t offer much in the way of acoustical control.

Because it is difficult to locate a location that is NOT a good application, clouds are simpler to define. Acoustic ceiling clouds are horizontally hanging, available in a wide range of designs, sizes, and shapes, and can improve ceiling design potential and conceal eye-catching ceiling fixtures.

No matter the style of the ceiling, the movable cloud components assist absorb sound in an open environment and lessen resonance. In the end, the cloud’s height is less significant because it is crucial to ensure that the clouds are structurally appropriate.
